Hacker Scouts Oakland

Hacker Scouts is a national non profit organization that focuses on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) education, skill building and community engagement with the aspiration to help children develop skills in the areas they are truly interested in, abilities that would allow them to dream big and create big.

Within the 65,500 square foot space can be found metal workers, jewelers, Sculptors, painters, set and prop builders, musicians, hobbyists, engineers, plumbers, electricians, computer programmers, machinists and more.

Young Makers clubs

A community that brings together like-minded young people, adult mentors, and fabrication facilities. Mentors help Young Makers find a project vision if they don’t already have one, and then work with youth to realize that vision. Along the way mentors expose the underlying math, science, and engineering principles behind the projects and teach tool usage and safety. Collectively the members and mentors foster a collaborative culture of creativity, innovation, and experimentation.
